During a press briefing, he said the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the U.K. have not included it for treatment. “We have to remember that this drug has major safety concerns. It can cause teratogenicity, mutagenicity and it can also cause cartilage damage and can also be damaging to muscles also. Dr Reddy's Laboratories on Tuesday said it will launch Molflu (Molnupiravir) at ₹35 per capsule to treat  COVID-19   in the country. Molflu will be priced at ₹35 per capsule, a spokesperson of the Hyderabad-based drug maker said in a statement. With 10 capsules per strip, the total course of 40 capsules over 5 days would cost ₹ 1,400 , making it among the most affordable treatment options available to patients, it added. " Molflu is expected to be available from early next week in pharmacies throughout the country with particular focus on states with high caseload of COVID-19," the spokesperson noted. Movement of individuals for all non-essential activities shall remain prohibited between 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. within municipal limits of all cities and towns of Punjab, according to an order issued by the Home Affairs and Justice Department on January 4. All educational institutions , including schools, colleges, universities, and coaching institutions, shall remain closed, it further said. Bars, cinema halls, multiplexes, malls, restaurants, spas, museums, and zoos shall be allowed to operate at 50% of their capacity subject to all employees being fully vaccinated, it said. INDIA GIFTS 5 LAKH DOSES OF COVAXIN TO AFGHANISTAN

India began the new year by handing over half a million doses of COVID-19 vaccines to Afghanistan. The consignment is part of a million-strong vaccine supply that will be completed within the coming weeks, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has said. It will be one of the largest-ever humanitarian assistance projects from India to Afghanistan consisting of wheat and other medicines to be organised in coordination with U.N. agencies. The Taliban has welcomed the initiative. Our people are passing through a critical time now. We welcome and appreciate humanitarian assistance by your country. It introduced a one-year certification course for clinicians treating headaches, earlier this year, which had more than 300 doctors from across the world, and 150 from India, enrolling. Set to launch a two-year course in 2022, which will be in a hybrid format — combining online and offline training — the WHS plans to tie up with other medical societies in India, to promote a better understanding of headaches, its study and treatment.
